7 Tips to Stay Fit and Healthy During Quarantine

Physical fitness is very important if you want to maintain your figure and keep your body healthy, especially this pandemic which doesn’t give you any other choice but to stay at home 24/7. However, it can be a tedious process because you will have to undergo various adjustments to achieve your goal. Fitness is not just doing exercises. Below are some things you can do to keep your body fit and healthy during this quarantine.


1. Eat a balanced diet

To get you started, you, of course, have to discipline yourself. Eating food like fruits and vegetables on a daily basis is a great way to keep your body healthy. Protein-rich food such as fish and chicken are ideal because they help in building the muscles.


2. Avoid food that contain preservatives

This tip is hard at first, but if you really want to be fit, you have to do this. Avoid food like fast food, processed food, chips and other food that may affect your diet. Alternatively, you can eat bananas, nuts, and yogurt for snacks. Also, avoid sweets because they contain substances that are not ideal if you’re maintaining fitness. If you are really craving, just take small amounts.


3. Do some workouts

Now, for progress. Doing workouts will help you build the muscles. Every workout program has a specific group of muscles to build, and it will depend on what results you want. If you want to make it balanced, do full body workouts since they will build various muscles in the body. Workouts can also improve your power and endurance. For a start, do some basic workouts. As you go further, the intensity will increase. High intensity workouts are also known as HIIT programs, which means that you will have a minimal time of rest and more time of work. Progressing on higher intensity workouts can improve your strength.

Note: do some warm-up exercises before workouts to prevent injuries.


4. Do some running and jogging

Aside from the workouts, you must also do some runs. These will help you improve your cardio vascular strength and your endurance. If you want to set a specific distance, use a tracker like Strava or under armor. Just be sure that your device is close to your body in order to get accurate results.


5. Do some cool down stretches after every workout

Cool down stretches or commonly called yoga stretches can help untighten the muscles that have been used during the workout. These stretches can help loosen them in order to prevent injuries. If injuries occur, it will take some time to recover, depending on what part of the body is injured.


6. Have enough rest

Rest is important because if you don’t, you will burn yourself out and that’s not what you want. Having enough sleep will help your muscles to relax and prepare them to be used for the next program.


7. Fluid intake

Hydrate yourself after every run or workout. Because you’re sweating, the fluid and salts are used up by your body. drinking water can replace it. Make sure to drink eight to 12 glasses of water everyday to hydrate yourself.
