JEALENE CRISTEL MINA
Wants to take English Language Course
Congenital glaucoma runs in the family with Jealene’s totally blind father and her younger sibling who is totally blind. It may sound that blindness is the norm in the family but accepting blindness is a personal journey. When Jaelene lost whatever vision she had, she was in denial. But her father led her to realize that she, too, can lead a normal life like him. In 2013, Jaelene completed ATRIEV’s basic computer literacy course through the sponsorship of the ADB Staff Community Fund.

CRISANTA MARCELINO
Wants to take English Language Course
When Cris was only three months old, her left eyeball was removed to arrest the spread of cancer cells. At age three, her right eye was also removed. The radiation and cobalt therapy on Cris’s eyes took a toll on the family’s finances, forcing the family to move to Dagupan, Pangasinan where cost of living is lower. In 2013, Cris attended ATRIEV’s basic computer literacy training through the sponsorship of Liliane Foundation Phils. Her ATRIEV training prepared her for her course in IT.
