Maria Asuncion Abiva-Cruz

An educator since 1985, Maria Asuncion “Marion” Abiva-Cruz has served in different capacities in the field of education as preschool teacher, School Directress, educational consultant, and resource speaker for teacher training and seminar-workshops for administrators, teachers, day care volunteers, and parents. Marion currently works as part-time faculty at the Ateneo Education Department as course instructor and advisor.  She is also the President of Abiva Foundation, Inc. and its Acting Executive Director. She served ATRIEV as a board member from 2016 to 2018 and has been tapped as resource speaker in various occasions to provide training to  ATRIEV trainers to hone their craft.

Marion earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University and her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti, Michigan) and is now pursuing her PhD degree in Education, major in Curriculum Studies at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

Married to Raymond Daniel (Jun) Cruz, she is blessed with four children, one of them (Daniel Dominic) with low vision, having been a former student at ATRIEV.
